Early Friday July 23rd eight youth and four adult sponsors left on their mission trip. They will be spending Friday night at Holy Family Episcopal Church, home church of Fr. Irv’s sister Christine. When they arrive at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, PA the group will be working with the Helping Hands Ministry, a ministry that builds awareness of systemic poverty in the Appalachian region of NW Pennsylvania. You might ask, “How did we end up going to Franklin?” The trip was germinated in discussions with the Rt. Rev. Sean Rowe, who came to Tulsa in October 2009. Many thanks to the youth and parents who raised funds, the Outreach Committee for underwriting some of the travel expenses, and to the Rules and Clines who are the adult sponsors.
