In every Sunday bulletin we note that our outdoor labyrinth is open daily. Now is the season to truly enjoy walking our labyrinth, found on the north-east corner of our property (41st Street and S Atlanta Place).
Follow the path because there are no tricks or dead ends...just walk from the entrance to the center and back out again. Many have found that this path becomes a mirror for where they are in their lives, touching sorrows and releasing joys. In the coolness of the season, it's easier to walk with an open heart and mind.
We invite you to walk the labyrinth yourself or invite a friend to join you!
This week I have been marveling at the number of bees and butterflies around the Garden of Hope. We have pulled out the tomatoes, chopped down the okra (note to us: don’t plant okra in raised beds in the future…it’s hard to harvest without a step ladder), and planted some fall crops: turnips, beets, spinach and lettuce. While the cucumber plants look past their prime we are still harvesting cucumbers. You’ll notice a new structure near our garden. Thanks to George and Susan Moffat who have built our compost bin, which is now ready for use.
I am glad that we have an “embodied” faith. I picked some basil the other day and was reminded of the phrase, “O taste and see that the Lord is good!” (Psalm 34:8)

Our partnership with Trinity and Holland Hall has built more Habitat for Humanity houses than any other church sponsor in Tulsa.
On September 11th we participated in the wall-raising for our 13th house, built in cooperation with the Landrum family, who will own this house, and Tulsa University’s wonderful corps of Habitat for Humanity volunteers.
Unlike in some previous years, we had a beautifully sunny morning. Irv Cutter gave the invocation, all the partners spoke to the importance of building a home, and then the walls were raised.

Early Friday July 23rd eight youth and four adult sponsors left on their mission trip. They will be spending Friday night at Holy Family Episcopal Church, home

July 4th the Brotherhood of St. Andrew usually hosts a huge breakfast and speech prior to our service. This year our celebration occurred between the two services. The faithful Brothers cooked up a storm, the Common Room looked festive, and we had a new speaker: Dr. Clarence Oliver who gave a very informative talk “Reflections on the History of the Flag and the Pledge of Allegiance.” We adjourned to the church where we also sang patriotic hymns throughout the service.

Both the youth and adults participated in rigorous instruction for many weeks on such topics as the Bible, the sacraments, our faith, the history of the Episcopal Church, and our worship. Bishop Ed met with our vestry and clergy, preached at both services and provided encouragement and support. Thanks Bishop Ed and his wife Debbie for joining us!
VBS focused on the Gospel of John during the week of June 7th. About 35 youth from kindergarten through 5th grade participated in various activities and learned music. The week culminated with the premier performance of “A Journey with John,” composed by Dr. Michael Bedford.
